Reach for the Sky was founded by Marcia Smith, a qualified Life Coach and NLP Practitioner, based in Portsmouth on Hampshire's sunny south coast.
She is passionate about people and committed to helping individuals lead happy and fulfilled lives by making achievable and long lasting changes. She gets as much buzz from her clients 'light-bulb' moments as they do.
She believes that everyone has the potential to achieve almost anything they want, if it's what they truly desire.
After years living a life in which she was not content, Marcia made the decision in 2000 to do something different, take control of her own destiny, and live the life she wanted. She made positive and major changes in her life, and eventually took a giant leap of faith, quitting her job in order to train as a personal life coach.
She has never looked back, and now uses her experience and enthusiasm for life to help other people find the personal freedom and happiness that goes hand in hand with living the life they want.
Marcia has overcome divorce, redundancy (twice), illness and money worries, so can identify first hand with many traumatic issues that can occur in life from time to time. She has been a corporate financial & project manager for many years, so also knows what it's like in the real world. Now as a qualified Life Coach & Certified NLP Practitioner, she combines both her personal and business experience to gain a full understanding of her clients needs and issues.
A mother of two adult children, she maintains a good work life balance and successfully juggles business with other interests such as dancing and cycling.
In November 2008 she undertook her biggest challenge to date - cycling 700km though Northern West Vietnam to raise £3000 for CENTRAL POINT, a charity working for the homeless in Portsmouth.
Ater the sucess of the Vietnam cycle, she has decided to complete another challenge in 2009. The Legend of the Alps bike ride. It is climbing 6 mountains in 3 days - lots more practice required. All funds raised will be directed to

Why does life Coaching work?
Your Life Coach is not someone that will give you all the answers, but someone who will be your mentor and who believes in your unlimited potential. She knows that you already have all the answers within you - you just need some guidance in finding them.
She will listen to you, ask powerful questions to help you reflect on your current situation and look at things from different perspectives. She may use a number of techniques designed to help you adjust your limiting beliefs and negative behaviours, so that you can start to see positive results in your life. While you may look back at your past, the focus is on your future. The past might be a reference to your current behaviours, decisions and beliefs, so together we can work through these and eliminate any that do not serve you.
It is true that if we continue to have the same beliefs and do things in the same way, that we will continue to get the same results that were not working previously. Therefore change is necessary.
You may sometimes be asked to step outside of your comfort zone, but it will always be with your permission. Be assured though, that stepping outside the box can produce some truly amazing results.
